Be Ready For Any Emergency With A Voice Evacuation System

Advanced announces solutions to help you communicate effectively with your facilities and employees should a disaster strike

Mass notification systems or MNS will soon be required for commercial buildings across Canada – is your facility ready.  A MNS system will improve the safety, confidence, and wellbeing of employees and patrons should an emergency arise by providing clear and concise information and instructions throughout a disaster.  The system will aid in the execution of emergency plans, procedures, and communication protocols to everyone in the building or outdoor space, helping to maintain order and prevent injury or loss of life.

A MNS system will work in conjunction with existing PA system and will be able to communicate live or pre-recorded critical information.  Advanced (www.advanced-inc.com) recommends that a MNS system should also include a form of distributing information to recipients which could include cell phones, SMS/text messaging, pagers, personal emails, hand held radios, instant messaging and/or computer pop-up messages.

The Advanced engineering and design team recommend the following items for an internal MNS systems:

  • A PA/ Intercom system
  • Life Safety System
  • Fire voice system
  • Network PC’s
  • CCTV systems
  • Flat panel or LED displays
  • Phone systems

For wide area MNS systems, which consist of outdoor public spaces, Advanced recommends the following elements that should encompass the MNS system:

  • Giant voice speaker systems
  • Sirens and strobes
  • Electronic signage
  • Emergency call stations
  • CCTV systems

Advanced has experience designing MNS systems and can work with facilities to determine their objectives and answer important questions in order to design a system that fits a particular application.

Advanced Achieves Digital Media Certification Designations

Advanced Goes Digital

The digital landscape is rapidly changing and very different from the analog world in which we are all familiar.  Over the past year, the Advanced design and engineering team has been undergoing extensive training in this area to ensure we are satisfy the needs of our customers.

We are pleased to announce that senior leaders on the Advanced technical team have achieved Digital Media Certified Designer and Digital Media Certified Engineer designations.  These intense courses teach the functional differences between analog and digital systems as well as advanced skills necessary to design and configure digital systems.

The key to any successful AV system design – analog or digital – is understanding and satisfying the needs of customers.  Whoever you decide to partner with, ensure they understand this technology and the impact it will have on your organization.  Defining sources, signal transmission distances and signal switching/processing are becoming increasingly more complicated in today’s multi interface environments.  Imagine you invest in what you think is a state of the art AV system and then walk in one day with an iPad only to learn your system wasn’t designed to handle that device.

Selecting the right technology solution provider can be a critical factor in a properly executed system design – one that is designed with the future in mind.

To speak with one of our Digital Media Professionals or to set up an appointment to discuss your AV installation project, please contact us at 905-502-0036 / 1-800-436-6239 or info@advanced-inc.com.
