Born and raised in Ottawa and a graduate from the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa, Bonnie has most recently worked for the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation in conjunction with the Ottawa Carleton District School Board as an Educational Technology Integrator where she assisted teachers in integrating various forms of technology into their lessons.  

In addition, Bonnie has vast teaching experience in K-12 classrooms, having taught Core French, French Immersion Religion, English and Computer Studies across Ottawa school boards. With regards to technology, Bonnie is familiar with and has used the majority of software supported by most districts and is comfortable with both the PC and Mac platforms. She brings a vast working knowledge of the educational system along with a robust understanding of the substantial benefits that can be achieved by implementing the latest AV technologies into the classroom environment.

It has increased its global category share by 2.6 percentage points over Q1 to 52.8% in Q2 – more than twice that of its nearest competitor. Its interactive response systems are also making positive headway in global markets.

Breakdown in major markets

Q2 interactive whiteboard sales were particularly strong in the United States where SMART holds a 63.4% share, an increase of 3.3 points from Q1. Big gains in France and Brazil

SMART’s interactive whiteboard category share in France rose a dramatic 22.2 points to 36.2%. Similarly in Brazil, the company’s category share climbed 18.8 points over Q1 to reach 35.3%.

Futuresource predicts more room to grow

Futuresource forecasts over 320,000 interactive whiteboards will be sold in 2009 in the United States alone. It also predicts the global installed base will grow from the current two million units to seven million over the next five years, equipping one in every five classrooms worldwide with an interactive whiteboard.

Interactive response systems gain volume

In this category, SMART has made significant gains in sales volumes. North American volumes swelled 62.2% over Q1, while global numbers increased 52.0%. SMART interactive response systems product category shares rose 2.28 points in North America and 1.51 points globally.
Futuresource predicts nearly 8 million interactive response handsets will be sold in 2010, representing an estimated value of US$473 million.
