Canadian schools use videography to prove they are leaders in the digital learning revolution
As a proud sponsor of the 4th Annual MindShare Learning 21st Century Classroom Video Challenge, Advanced was pleased to award this year’s tech savvy teachers. The competitive contest, which brought in submissions from all across Canada, ended with three national winners who received classroom technology packages totaling over $50,000. Of the sponsored prizes, Advanced offered two half-day complimentary SMART Professional Development workshops available in Ontario and 10 complimentary online SMART Board training courses available to all regions.
This year’s grand prize winners from West, Central and Eastern Canada are Shelley Wright from Cornerstone School in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; Heidi Siwak from Dundas Central Public School in Dundas, Ontario; and Seth Richardson from Sir James Dunn Academy in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. Each school received over $15,000 in prizes to help the advancement of technology education.
The MindShare Learning Report, Canada’s Leading, Learning and Technology eMagazine, hosts the annual contest as a way of celebrating new thinking and new possibilities through the power of education technology. By sharing knowledge of today’s best innovative classroom practices, MindShare Learning hopes to transform our education landscape. This year, the competitors entered a two to four minute video incorporating the use of technology in the classroom. The interactive teaching practices included everything from podcasting, video, software, robotics and interactive whiteboards.
