Grand Erie District School Board Puts Technology Center Stage

SMART Boards at Forefront of Districts Technology Investment

Advanced Education, a leader in educational technology solutions, is proud to be part of Grand Erie District School Board’s implementation of SMART Boards and related technology across their district.  This first year of a five-year plan will see the implementation of new technology across Grand Erie District School Board and will bring interactive technology into the classrooms of local area high schools and other classrooms across the region.

Valley Heights Secondary School will be the first school to see the addition of three SMART Boards for its math classrooms in addition nine other classrooms to be outfitted with SMART Boards.

SMART Boards take the traditional white board and bring them into the digital age by allowing teachers and students to interact with each through an  interactive medium and provides the ability to save classroom notes and have these sent wirelessly to student or teacher computers.

To increase participation, Grand Erie District will also implement SMART Response clickers that are designed to further involve students in the learning process through remote handsets or “clickers”.  These clicker provide teachers with instant feedback allowing them to make sound instructional decisions in real time.
