Announcing Microsoft ‘MindShare Learning’ ‘Classroom Challenge’ winners
Advanced Education, audio visual specialists to the Education sector and one of the sponsors of Microsoft Canada’s ‘Mindshare Learning’ program congratulates the winners of the ‘Classroom Challenge ‘contest aimed at finding Canada’s most ‘technology savvy’ educators.
Now in its second year, ‘MindShare Learning‘ is Canada’s premier event designed to inspire teachers and students from across the country to share their successful classroom practices using technology to help learners succeed in the emerging, knowledge-based, global economy.
The ‘Classroom Challenge’ contest:
Teachers from publicly funded schools entered to qualify to win one of three technology prize packs valued at over $15,000 for their school. They each had to submit a video explaining why they should be the winners.
After a rigorous judging process (that included celebrity judge, Marci Ien, news anchor with CTV’s Canada AM and CTV News Channel), three national winners (western, central, eastern) emerged as Canada‘s most ‘tech savvy’ teachers.
The winners:
- Western Canadian Region: Kathy Cassidy Westmount School, Moose Jaw, SK
- Central Canada: Zelia Capitao-Tavares & Kamla Rambaran, McMurrich Junior Public School, Toronto, ON
- Eastern Canada: Reggie Cyr, L.E. Reinsborough School, St. Dalhousie, NB
Shann McGrail, Director of Education, Microsoft Canada said, “We applaud this year‘s winners who have aptly demonstrated how technology can be integrated into their classroom learning environment.”
